Please Note: One line is missing on the 2016 Ballot

The Ballot that you received with your 2016 Annual Meeting package contains one typographical error. Under the Approval of Minutes section, there are lines next to the opposed and abstain options and no line is provided to check "approve". If you are in favor of approval of the minutes, we suggest that you draw a line next to the "approve" option and mark an "x" or check mark on that line.

Please do not confuse the 2016 Ballot with the 2015 Ballot containing the proposed amendments that are still under consideration. The vote on those measures will be concluded shortly. If you have not voted, or are unsure if your vote for the proposed amendments contained on the 2015 Ballot has been recorded, please contact Christopher Gable, Secretary of the Council of Co-Owners at christopher.gable@wfadvisors.com.

 Marriott-Starwood merger is now complete

On September 23, 2016, Marriott International completed the acquisition of Starwood Hotels and Resorts thereby creating the world's largest hotel company. Please keep in mind that the newly acquired Starwood brands are not currently available under the reciprocal exchange program. You should also be aware that Marriott plans to operate the Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty programs separately for at least the next two years. If you are currently a member of SPG, you can now link your account to your Marriott Rewards account to receive Platinum Level benefits from both programs and to be able to transfer points between accounts. If you do not have an SPG account, you can apply for one and then transfer points for reward stays at Starwood brand properties. For details visit www.marriott.com.

Remembering retired Board Attorney J. Stephen Simon

We received the sad news today that Steve Simon, former independent counsel for the Camelback Board of Directors passed away on September 22, 2016. Steve represented the Board for many years including several years after he had retired from a successful law practice in Phoenix. Steve spent the past few years in Durango, Colorado.

John Simon, Steve's son and our fellow Co-Owner, fondly recalled that his father was passionate about Camelback and family memories at the Inn. Steve's passing came 26 years to the day after the signing of the Settlement Agreement of 1990 which Steve helped to negotiate and which remains today as the basis for sharing of costs and other important financial matters.

Lincoln Restaurant Opens in October replacing BLT Steak

The Resort recently announced the opening in October (date to be announced) of Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936, the Inn's new signature dining venue located in the space formerly occupied by BLT Steak. Read more about plans for the new Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 in the news release posted to the What's New page of the web site.

Details of October's Annual Meeting are posted on the Web Site

Your Annual Meeting Package including event details, Meeting Agendas, Ballot and Co-Owner's Budget is posted on the web in the What's New section.

This year's Annual Meeting date is later than usual due to the timing of the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur holidays. The weekend activities begin on Thursday, October 27 and conclude with the Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 29, 2016.

The Board of Directors will meet Thursday morning. A casual dinner will be served at the newly redesigned Mummy Mountain event venue Thursday evening. The Co-Owner's Golf Tournament will be played on Friday morning at the new Ambiente Golf Course. Non-golfers can sign up to enjoy a private tour of the Desert Botanical Gardens on Friday afternoon. The Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday Morning and Marriott International will host the Saturday evening reception.

Again this year Marriott is offering Co-Owners the option of a special Annual Meeting Rate of $125.00. If you prefer to pay the special rate, rather than use vacation days, please mention your preference in the comments section of your reservation request.
