 Marriott-Starwood merger is now complete

On September 23, 2016, Marriott International completed the acquisition of Starwood Hotels and Resorts thereby creating the world‚s largest hotel company. Please keep in mind that the newly acquired Starwood brands are not currently available under the reciprocal exchange program. You should also be aware that Marriott plans to operate the Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty programs separately for at least the next two years. If you are currently a member of SPG, you can now link your account to your Marriott Rewards account to receive Platinum Level benefits from both programs and to be able to transfer points between accounts. If you do not have an SPG account, you can apply for one and then transfer points for reward stays at Starwood brand properties. For details visit www.marriott.com.
