| Scott Blalock Named Vice President and General Manager of the JW Marriott Indianapolis | |||||||||||
Scott comes to the JW Marriott from his most recent role as General Manager of the Indianapolis Marriott. He began his hotel career with Marriott International, working in various sales and operations roles during his 18 years with the company. Scott is a multi-time General Manager, including stints at the Houston Marriott Greenspoint and the Marriott Rancho Las Palmas Resort, as well as working on Marriott's South Central regional team as Regional Vice President of Lodging Management. We are fortunate and excited to have Scott lead the pre-opening effort at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. His passion for the customer and "best-in-class" service delivery is second to none. You will meet him soon, if you have not already, at national sales and industry events, not to mention desk-side in our customer's offices! | Three Marriott Place Indianapolis Hotels Now Open | |||||||||||
On February 3rd, the 168 room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown and the newly renovated TGI Friday's opened their doors, followed by the opening of the 156 room SpringHill Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown and the 297 room Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown on February 18th. With three of the four hotels and 621 rooms complete in the complex, we continue to gear up for the anticipated grand opening of the world's largest JW Marriott, planned for February 2011. When the 1,005 room JW Marriott opens next year, the new 1,626 room complex will combine with the existing Indianapolis Marriott to form Marriott Place Indianapolis. Our motto: 145,000 square feet of meeting space, 2,248 rooms, 5 hotels, One Place.

| Kathy Ray named Director of Catering | |||||||||||
For the past four years, Kathy has worked as the Director of Catering at the Marriott Indianapolis. Kathy began her hospitality career at the Marriott Inn in Clarksville, IN and then worked in various sales and catering leadership roles with Hyatt Regency, The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company and Westin. Kathy also spent several years planning meetings for Eli Lilly and the NCAA. Kathy has been an amazing asset to the Marriott team and we are very eager to watch her succeed in her new role with the JW Indianapolis. Welcome to the team, Kathy! |
