Introducing Executive Chef Shaun Crymble

Indulge in delicious cuisine created by the new executive chef at The Rosseau, A JW Marriott Resort & Spa. Shaun Crymble has joined the Muskoka resort and brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the kitchen.

Crymble's passion for the culinary arts began at a small bed and breakfast in northern Ontario, Canada, which then developed over the years into a culinary vision for capturing the unique northern Ontario environment in the flavors and textures of the food he prepares. Add Crymble's personal expertise for Asian and Italian cooking and the result is delicious.

He completed his culinary apprenticeship through Humber College at an Ontario hotel in the late eighties. In 1990, he graduated as Chef from George Brown College and joined Marriott hotels in Toronto.

Crymble's career with Marriott took him stateside for more than a decade - first, to the Long Wharf Marriott in Boston, MA, and most recently to the JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, CA.

The Executive Chef's responsibilities at the Canadian resort includes culinary operations for Cottages, Teca "Simply Italian" Restaurant, Lakes lobby bar, The Deck poolside caf, the hotel's in-room dining service, as well as the hotel's bustling business in banquets, weddings and special events.

Million Dollar Memo for Queensland Australia

The team at The Rosseau, A JW Marriott Resort & Spa, is now in the top 70 entries for the "Million Dollar Memo"!

The Million Dollar Memo is a contest that was launched by Tourism Queensland in Australia to promote their destination globally. People were invited to submit videos showing why their workplace is the best place to work. The prize for the winning entry is $1,000,000 worth of travel to Queensland!

Our team got together and made a fantastic video. Making the top 70 is a huge achievement - our next goal is to be in the top 20!

If The Rosseau team wins, the plan is to give all core year-round associates the opportunity to travel to Queensland. The team will also save 10% of our winnings to donate to the following local registered charities:

Children's Miracle Network (Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids)
Camp Lake Jo (for adults and children with vision loss)
Camp Oochigeas (children with cancer)
Muskoka Humane Society
Hospice Muskoka
Muskoka Lakes Music Festival
